I. Concise, concrete description of personal feat of arms or merits

During his period of service in the regiment, he proved himself a daring and courageous defender

of the Motherland.

In battle for the city of Szprotawa on 13.02.1945, acting boldly and decisively, he smashed a

German machine gun with a grenade and destroyed 3 German soldiers.

On 15.02.1945 in battle for the city of Żagań, he was first to cross the river Bóbr and engage the

enemy, covering the battalion’s battle line as they crossed.

He leapt into a house from which a German machine gunner was firing and with a grenade

smashed the machine gun and killed 3 German soldiers.

In that battle, Comrade Gorichin was wounded, but he did not leave the battlefield until the

combat mission was accomplished.

For courage and bravery displayed in battle, he deserves the Government award the Order of the

Red Star.
