"ANTIQUE RARE KNIFE SWITCH ELECTRICAL OSCILLOGRAPH OSCILLOSCOPE BOARD PANEL!"
Up for sale is another unique example from the collection of "Science & Technology." This is a very rare, unknown, and undocumented antique accessory for the early oscillograph made by the Westinghouse Electric Works in Newark, NJ, somewhere in the early 1900s. An oscillograph is an early version of an oscilloscope, a device for graphically displaying voltages or signals. The current device is an add-on accessory for the early oscillograph. It features knobs and knife switches along with other electronic components. It appears to be a complete accessory that might still be in working condition. I have not tested it. It is a great-looking steampunk laboratory piece, but it is also a fantastic historical example of a rare electronic device. I can only guess the look of the oscillograph this accessory was made for. I wish I had a photo. There is an interesting book, a treatise on early oscillographs published in 1925 called "Oscillographs: A Concise Treatise on the Theory, Construction, and Use." If you find it, check for the photographs or technical drawings of the oscillographs made at that time. This accessory measures about 9 x 4 x 3.5 inches, and it weighs about 4 lbs. I see a few scratches in this unit but do not see any cracks. Use it as an interesting historical or decorative piece for your collection, as a prop for Frankenstein's laboratory, or as a part of an electrical project! I can carefully package and ship this lot anywhere in the world, but the $35 shipping cost with a tracking number and a protective box is for Canadian and US customers only. Please ask me for the shipping rate if you live in a different country. I design and make custom packaging for every object. If you wish, I can also specify a different value on the customs declaration to save you on duties.
