DESCRIPTION: Wolfs Head DO YOUR BEST Boy Scout cast BRASS flag pole finial, a Wolf Cub Pack essential, sometimes described as a flag pole mount or flag pole topper threaded style
-the last 2 images of this finial show the brass attachment that must be on your flag pole if you plan to use it with a pole, this addtional brass atachment is NOT for sale as part of this listing but shown to illustrate how the threaded on finials were used on a wood flag poles, I do have this attachment for sale in another listing if you are so interested
-the finial measures approximately 5 ½ inches by 4 inches in height and
width or 15 cm by 10 cm in height and width
-great vintage Scouting collectible, a wonderful display
item for a collector of Scout memorabilia or perhaps a perfect addition to a
flag pole currently being used in your Scouting activities to add the extra
impact
-from our review of vintage Boy Scouts Price Lists and
Catalogues we believe this style was introduced in 1964 and used
exclusively in the Canadian program
- early styles were socket type that fit over the pole and
often had a screw to hold it in place, later styles (in the 1960’s were
threaded and were then screwed into a brass holder that then attached to the
flag pole)
-most of the brass finials found have a rich patina but many
were regularly polished over the years which I understand was the custom in
some Scouting Groups
-I believe this style of finial was only used in Canada
and not in other commonwealth countries and territories such as the United
Kingdom, Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa and New
Zealand but if anyone
knows for sure please let us know

You are buying only the finial listed in the title and in the initial description. These extra photos show some of the Boy Scout finials in my collection. Some of the other styles I do have spares. If I have any spares, those finials are or will be listed on eBay in the very near future.
Some of the finials in the images were used throughout the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and other Commonwealth jurisdictions. Other finials were designed and used in specific countries. Two designs created and used ONLY in Canada featured a King's Crown and then a Queen's Crown after the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. If anyone knows of any other designs used in Scouting worldwide, please do consider messaging me.
