This is a vintage heat/air wall grate register. It is metal and has rust on it, please check the photos. The damper adjusts the flap to the desired opening. Cosmetically, there is some old clear tape on three bars, there is seemingly no purpose to the tape. There seems to be some sort of beige paint on the lower right side.
The exterior dimensions of the unit are: about 16 1/8” long, 14” tall, and the bottom is about 3 1/4” deep. The interior flap door is about 12 5/8” long and 9 5/8” tall.
