Hard Arkansas, Washita, and Soft Arkansas Sharpenin g Stones these are all natural novaculite sharpening stones quarried in the Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas. They differ in density and abrasive properties, with Washita being the coarsest, Soft Arkansas offering a medium grit, and Hard Arkansas providing a very fine, polishing grit.
