VTG Chicago 1910 - Early Knights Templar Masonic Hand Embroidered Piece measuring approximately 21“ x 23“.

Very early hand embroidered Knights Templar piece. Intricately designed. This piece features the Knights Templar emblem, a Masonic body within the York Rite, which is modeled after the historical Knights Templar.  The Latin phrase "In Hoc Signo Vinces" (meaning "In this sign you shall conquer") is a prominent motto associated with the Knights Templar.  Masonic embroidery, like this piece, served to demonstrate dedication to the fraternity and incorporated important Masonic symbolism.  Membership in the Knights Templar is typically open only to Freemasons who profess a belief in Christianity and have completed their Royal Arch degrees.

Used....poor condition.  Stains and fading!
