Why choose MLC NAND Flash rather than TLC NAND Flash?

MLC (Multi Level Cell) and TLC (Triple Level Cell) refer to the structure of flash memory cells and how many bits each cell can store.
MLC stands for multi-level cell which stores two bits and TLC stands for triple level cells, that means MLC is more durable and reliable than TLC.
This is a significant difference when recording large amounts of data rapidly, such as recording 4K video.
Recommend use MLC card for camera (dash camera, action camera or other professional cameras.)

  • Longer lifespan
Read/write life cycles of MLC are about 10,000 per cell, for TLC, read/write life cycles are considerably shorter at 3,000 to 5,000 cycles per cell,
that means the lifespan of one MLC card is equal to two TLC cards. So, MLC card would save more money for you.
