Vintage, 1920’s Banjo for
sale.
More photos added on 03/28/2025. The original photos posted had year 2012 shown. That was incorrect due to having the wrong date set in the camera. The actual date of the photos is 03/03/2025. Brought to attention by a viewer...thanks Hugh.
This banjo was played regularly for many years. David Kern from Easton PA was the musician owner. Russel Kern, David’s son is offering his Dad's Banjo for sale.
The years that Dave Kern
played this banjo the most were years between the late 1950s through the late 1990s. David Kern played
banjo, bass, fiddle and guitar with the local Country Cousins Band and the
later years with the local PKs Band. Dave also performed as a comedian with the
Country Cousins…and as a special attraction he played The World is waiting for
the Sunrise…while seated with the banjo behind his back…a unique authentic
Vaudeville performance and David Kern was a great musician and entertainer.
The banjo is in very good condition. The case is a bit “road worn” from being taken to hundreds of
musical performances. Note: The Capo behind the bridge...or could also serve as a "Wolf-Tone Suppressor"...or Mute as I was informed by a viewer...thank you..
Attached are photos and
recorded music of Dave playing this banjo.
My name is Tom and I am
listing this on eBay for Russ Kern. Any questions I will forward to Russ for a
reply.
The attached photos of David Kern were taken when he was performing with the Country Cousins. I will try to attach a short audio clip of Dave playing the banjo way back when. The banjo can be seen in the Easton PA area.
