Vintage Tanabe Alto Saxophone Low Pitch from Japan for Parts
Description
Tanabe Wind Instrument Manufacturing was founded in 1896 by Kanetaro Tanabe and was originally established to produce instruments for military bands. Alongside Nihon Kangakki Seisakusho (Nikkan), it played a significant role in supporting Japan’s wind instrument industry both before and after World War II.
Unfortunately, the company ceased operations in 1955, but it is believed to have been the first manufacturer to produce a domestically made saxophone in Japan.
Product condition
There are deteriorations due to use and long-term storage.
There are rust, dings and stains.
There are no neck and mouthpiece.
