This is a vintage Slingerland from the 1920s. It’s a really fine 21 inch unmarked banjouke, made in Chicago.
This isn’t a project banjouke; it’s ready to play.
It’s got a new calfskin head on it.
I’m playing this 1 out at Old Time jams a lot; really sounds full and clear.
The instrument is Bird’s Eye Maple.
There’s a tone hoop underneath the calfskin.
The fretboard is a very high quality Rosewood.
It’s got a bone nut.
The tuners are very good, modern geared Grover’s.
The bridge is an old Grover No-Tip.
It has a Bell Brand tailpiece.
The strings are D’Addario Nyltechs.
The new call skin head and bone nut give a really bright tone and the geared tuners keep it in tune easily. This Rosewood fretboard is 1st class and great to play on. The Nyltech strings give it a rich, gut-like tone.
This instrument has great tone and playability.
It’s clean and ready to play.
Please look at the pictures and judge its condition.
Thanks for looking.
