Vintage Sigma Nu Fraternity Copper Mug – Beta Rho 1956 – L.G. Balfour Co.
Rare original Sigma Nu copper mug produced by the L.G. Balfour Co. (Attleboro, MA), a well-known maker of fraternity and military memorabilia during the 20th century. This mug was likely issued as a commemorative gift to a Beta Rho chapter (Carnegie Mellon) member from the class of 1956.
Features:
• Raised Sigma Nu brass crest with eagle, serpent, sword, and knight’s helmet
• Hand-engraved with “Beta Rho 56” and Greek motto
• Stamped on the base: L.G. BALFOUR CO.
• Copper body with applied brass elements and decorative rim bands
Condition: Good vintage condition. This mug shows clear signs of age and use — scuffs, tarnish, and several dents (see photos), but retains its full charm and authenticity. Handle is firmly attached.
