The Brooklyn and Richmond ferry (Richmond is the county name that includes Staten Island) began sailing across the Narrows in 1912 and continued daily operations until late 1964 when ferry service was replaced by the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge. The ferry's PILOT was the key crew member who guided the ferry across the busy waterway known for its at times turbulent tidal waters. Seller does not accept returns.
