Vintage MSA #78398 Lead-In-Air Detector kit. Made by or for Mine Safety Devices Co., Pittsburgh PA. This detector uses a filter paper type air sampler. We estimate this kit was produced back around 1973-74. Includes hand pump (air syringe), #78399 Reagent kit with instructions, two #78693 tins of filter papers, tweezers, leather carry strap, and a painted aluminum storage/transport case.
No signs of damage or poor storage conditions, but this unit is Not Tested, and we don't know if the reagents are still good. Sometimes the best use for this vintage equipment is as a movie or theater prop!
