The first meeting of Christ and John the Baptist is based on an original, from Anrea dell Robbia workshop, which dates back to the early 16th century in Florence Italy. Of all of the art forms of the early Italian Rennaissance, none is better known than the work of Della Robbias. Luca Della Robbia taught Andrea, his nephew, the distinctive are ot creating relief religious scenes: Andrea carried on the family tradition of magnificent reliefs such as this Tondo.
