Here is an early unique California spade bit that was obviously in a wreck at some point, but was well repaired years ago.There are no breaks on it, but it was probably bent up good at one point. It attributed to Frank Mayfield of San Luis Obispo. Anyway, it's a good bit now and strong. Look at the beauty of the repairs in the photos. The mouth is 4 7/8" wide and has an 7 3/4", long shank, and a 4 1/4" spade. Buyer pays shipping.
