Title: Vintage Button Lot 1930s -1970s 3+ lbs mixed age material color size & shank #98

Background : We recently acquired a large collection of buttons - over 20 pounds, probably over 10000 pieces.  They are  primarily from the early 1910s to the 1970s. The collection included buttons made out of the following materials - glass, china, shell, leather, bakelite, celluloid, vegetable ivory, plastic, goodyear, metal, wood, composition, etc.  Types included self shanks, metal shanks, 2 hole, 4 hole, whistle, pad, etc.  Sizes range from large to diminutive. I have a pretty good background in antiques, but I am not a button expert.  I can recognize vintage versus more modern, but other than identifying glass & seashell as a material, my education has been what I have learned over the past few weeks.   I have done my best to sort them into related lots and identify materials, but I am sure that I have made some mistakes.  Please use your own knowledge & expertise to make decisions.  I welcome polite corrections to any mistakes I may have made.  Photos show the actual group that will be sent.  Please read entire description and view all photos for the best evaluation of lot.  Please check our other listings for any other button lots that you may be interested in as we will combine shipping whenever possible.

Description: Up for sale is this Vintage Button Lot.  I believe they are predominantly from 1930s - 1970s, but I think there may be a few later ones.  The weight is just around  3.2 lbs.  I thought that I was going to lay them all out, but after 2 laying out items on 2 stairs, I realized that I didn't have the patience. Please view all 24 photos.  Most of these are plastic but there are a some other materials. I believe most of these are round in shape but there is a large group of square 5/16 " ones.  There are also some matching sets included in this lot.  There are also a variety of shanks/attachments which I tried to show in photos. Please check our other listings because we are happy to  combine shipping on multiple lots if possible.

Size :  Most range from approx. 5/16" to 1.25"

Condition:  This is a very mixed lot. Most have probably been used but in general most are in good condition condition, some show dirt and scratches & some still have residual threads. Some may require cleaning. Please consult photos as they are the most accurate & concise representation of condition.. Unless Specifically stated as new or unused, many of our items are pre-loved pieces moving on to new homes.  This means they may show a certain amount of wear commensurate with their age but I endeavor to identify any significant flaws or damage. Please read the description and condition and most importantly please examine and use photos to aid in your evaluation - you may find it looks better than it sounds. We will be happy to answer any additional questions which you may have or provide additional photos if necessary to aid in your evaluation. Price reflects condition.
