Talk about art deco! I expected it to date back further when I read the plaque, but it says "CONGRES 1954 JOINVILLE" (accent on e...)
I wasn't able to find another 1)trophy like it, 2) another medallion/logo like it, 3) fireman's event from 1954 in France that would have been a reason for an award, etc.
I did learn that 1954 was a significant year in France's history because there was a conflict/war between them and Algeria. Perhaps this stemmed from something that took place then/there?
I cannot be positive of the metal is is made out of, but my BEST GUESS is that it's nickel plated outside and painted a nice antique gold color inside. The medallion is a brassy color. It is affixed through 2 holes that go through to the inside and bend flat.
This trophy is about 9 1/2" tall. Marble base.
CONDITION, AGAIN: See photos. VINTAGE ITEM, VINTAGE CONDITION. Inside where painted there are some small mars or scratches. May show some age but very nice overall. Great patina!
I usually ship within one day of receiving payment. Please pay within 2 days.
