Please ask any and all questions via the eBay "ask a question" format. I answer questions fairly quickly; see my 100% eBay rating and purchase confidently. Please also note that the bike is for pick-up only due to it's 32 lb. heavy total weight. Should you wish to have the bike shipped, please note that there would not only be the basic shipping cost but also an added cost for packaging (which would take a few days). Contact me for a shipping quote with your zip code. Thanks for looking; take care and God bless.

Up for acquisition is a very nice original Ross Mt. St. Helen's mountain bike produced in Allentown, Pennsylvania in February of 1984. Their first mountain bike, the Force 1, came to the market in 1983 and was then promptly renamed due to copyright infringement. In any case, this particular model was built like a tank! It's quite heavy (32 lbs.) and made of "tempered" Cro-Moly lugged 4130 steel. Ross built their own frames right in their factory and coated them right after production to inhibit rusting. This particular model, number 286, is Peacock Blue (looks silver to me) and the color is number 28. The information stamped on right side dropout of the frame is: 286-2128. The 286 is the model number, the 21 is the frame size, and the 28 is the official color that the bike was painted. The wheel size is 26" and the width of the Japanese UKAI blue anodized rims is 2.125 HF (according to the tires on the bike). The "thumb-gear" shifters are Shimano EM. The Dorcy speedometer shows exactly 170.0 miles on its face but I cannot guarantee that this is the total miles on the bike. The crankset is the Sugino blue-anodized "Custom" and the pedals are the anodized blue "Custom-M", model MP-464. The rear derailleur is the Shimano Eagle II model. The frame size is 21", suitable for riders from 5'11" up to 6'3" in height. The handlebars are Cro-Moly "Bull Moose" original handle bars. There are very few nicks or scratches, from what I can see, on the frame and entire bike, in general. The tires, in my opinion, may not be the original tires; I've not found any information on what the original tires were so I can't guarantee that the current tires are original to the bike.
