Vintage 1960s Lillian Sader Menu Pan American World Airways SF To Hawaii Framed If I were to guess, I'd say this was framed in the 1960s in Hawaii. I am also assuming that it's the famous menu/postcard. There's no way to know without removing it from the frame. It's nicer than it looks in the photos! Dimensions: 6-1/4" x 9" About the artist (found online): This lovely menu cover featuring Hawaiian attractions was one of a series designed by the artist Lillian Sadler (1920-2010). Sadler started her career at the Chicago Art Institute but her primary career was as a graphic artist and advertising expert, and she worked with the famous ad man Walter Landor for over 40 years in San Francisco. She was one of the original “Mad Men,’ actually one of the rare women working in a male-dominated field. If you are a fan of the TV series, the character of Peggy Olson, the plucky and talented ad woman played by actress Elizabeth Moss, sounds very like her. As a highly paid executive, Sadler worked with high-profile brands such as Coca Cola, Philip Morris and many airlines – including Pan Am. Air passengers could request a complete set of the Sadler menus suitable for framing – proving that people appreciated menu art decades ago. VERY CAREFULLY PACKED FOR SHIPMENT!!!!
