Up for sale is an original vintage 1950 Gibson ES-125 archtop guitar. I'm selling it for my dad who bought it from the bass player of my teenage rock band in 1990 in Phenix City, Alabama. It has been stored in a climate-controlled environment ever since.
Condition:
This guitar has the original pickup & knobs. It plays like a dream and has a straight neck and no buzzing frets. The electronics all work great. The tuners are non original re-issue Kluson Single Line replacements because the original bakelite tuner buttons had fallen apart. The guitar top has a slight separation at the waist. My dad brought it in to one of the best luthiers in town (Thom Schiff, in Fredericksburg, VA) and the Thom said that this was common in 50's ES-125s and in his opinion was not going to get any worse. He was very impressed with how the guitar played and recommended that we sell it as a player (not a collector's piece). He said that the guitar should play "for decades" with no further problems.
The guitar will be packed well (double-boxed) and shipped insured.
