This metal “Motor Vehicle of Hire” license plate is from Virginia, Minnesota. I assume it was for a taxi, bus or maybe a trucking business? It measures about 4.25” x 2.75”. It is a heavy metal piece that had been nickel plated. It reads “License – Motor Vehicle of Hire – Ordinance No. 207 – No. 95 – City of Virginia, Minn. – Expires Dec. 31, 1924.” The plate is in good solid original condition as shown in the photo but the majority of the nickel plating is gone as seen in the photos.
