Rare Vintage 1930 INDIANA BAND INSTRUMENT CO. (MARTIN) Alto Sax with Lightly Gold Wash Bell, Nice Franklin Mouthpiece, and Original Vintage Case. Sax Serial #5209. This sax has been cleaned, polished, and *adjusted, and plays great with a sweet, vintage tone on the included Franklin mouthpiece. Pads are in good playing condition with the octave key pad and the lower back bow pad being replaced. Further padding will be at the discretion of the buyer. Corking has been replaced where needed and new red felts have been added to the key guards. Cosmetically, it looks really good with a few mild dings and a resoldered octave key - very sturdy (see video and pictures). It's almost impossible to find one of these old INDIANA saxophones in such great shape. Research indicates that they were based on the old Martin Handcraft altos. The original case is also in great condition. All hardware is functional, no smells, and is very sturdy with a little wear. Included with the case are a new red microfiber polishing cloth, a red Neotech neckstrap, the original lyre, the original end plug, and the Franklin mouthpiece w/vintage-classic ligature, cap, and new Rico Plasticover reed. Definitely a collectors piece that's also fun to play. Good Luck Bidding!
Note: The resoldered octave key has been enhanced with a light coat of silver enamel.
