This amazing brand new green velvet Men's chappan is made by a women's craft group in Bukhara, Uzbekistan. They have created this elaborate zardozi embroidery to ornament this beautiful work of art. This is a very regal piece. Zardozi comes from two Persian words: zar or zarin meaning 'gold', and dozi meaning 'sewing'. Zardozi is a type of heavy and elaborate metal embroidery on a silk, satin, or velvet fabric base. Designs are often created using gold and silver threads and can incorporate pearls, beads, and precious stones. It is used as decoration for a wide range of applications, including clothes and ceremonial textiles. Historically, it was used to adorn the walls of royal tents, wall hangings and the paraphernalia of regal elephants and horses. Today, craftsmen make use of a combination of copper wire, with a golden or silver polish, and silk thread.

Polyester lining .This chappan will stay with you forever as you pass it down to generations to come. There are many other uses for it. They have been seen at Galas, Banquets, cocktail parties and other ceremonial events. This is a robe and so you can mix and match with other clothing too.

A zardozi chappan is a must for Central Asian Weddings. They can be simple or complicated, but nobody gets married without this type of chappan. This is a beautiful  piece and was a labor of love for the craftswomen.

A must for the collector of ethic textiles!
