I have a Doyle Genoa
off my Irwin 52 for sale. This is a very good sail, The
sail is yankee cut so it has good visibility and when a wave comes over the bow
it won’t catch the sail. It is a 115% genoa
it has a luff 54'3", Leech 44'0",
Foot 29'6" it is made with Dimension 10.2oz Dacron cloth.
It has an overhead leech line which comes down to the tack for adjustment, also
the foot line is at the tack for adjustment, all very easy to get to. The sail
has a captain navy UV sail cover on the leech and foot. The sail is in
excellent shape. I bought the sail in 2013 and installed on my roller furler
while I was stuck at the dock in Kemah TX. It was used for a few day sails on Galveston
Bay. In 2018 I sailed to tarpon springs FL where I put boat on Hard for two
years while doing repairs. In 2020 I finally left to go cruising, I left for
the Bahamas and the Caribbean, once I got to Grenada in January 23 I took the
sail to the Ullman sail loft and had the sail gone over completely by Bronwen
McKiever, she did a great job replacing the rings on the tack and head with
webbing, this works much better on the roller furler, My new Doyle sail came
this way. She patched and reinforced all wear points. I put sail on and sailed
one day to Barbados to pick up my new Doyle Jib, The Genoa hasn’t been used
since that day. The sail is in very good shape, I didn’t add up the miles but it
is not a lot, one trip from Texas to Florida and through the Caribbean. When in
Grenada I ordered a blade jib from Doyle in Barbados to replace the Genoa, with
the strong winds in the Caribbean I wanted a smaller head sail. I have carried
around the Genoa thinking I would want to use it someday. I don’t see me using
it as I have a code zero asym when I want a bigger head sail. Love my Doyle
sails. They are really rugged and sail well. This Genoa has a lot of good life
left in it. To have this sail built new by Doyle would be over $6000. I spent $500
on it in Grenada. I’m asking $1500, wish I had the space to keep it as a spare,
it needs a new home with someone that can use it.
