For sale is a LED kit for the not pre-wired miter saws, one's what have a
channel to run the wires, covered with plastic fascia also could be used for similar applications with the other stationary tools like a grinding machine, etc. There is no separate power supply needed. The LED is warm white color - about 3.5K and bright, but not too bright - 380 Lm - and will reduce the strain on the eyes in a dark environment and eventually WILL save your fingers from cutting, plus it quickly pays for itself by the material you save doing right cuts every time . LED will throw nice ambient light in complete darkness, plus blade will form the shadow in exact spot where the cut will be made, no adjustment necessary - see photos. (also in the night photo light appears brighter that it actually is - due to the camera exposure - its not blinding! :-)).
  • Bright L.E.D.  delivers enhanced visibility.
  • Illuminates Work Surface for increased productivity.
  • Blade Shadow cut line delivers fast accurate alignment.
  • No adjustments required for accurate repeatable cuts.
  • inexpensive
  • no extra power outlet or power supply needed
  • no extra switches - the light will turn on as soon you plug the saw to the receptacle to show you it plugged and power is on
  • very low power consumption and long life

This is a DIY kit and as such is not for everyone. You have to be handy and know what you are doing. Assembling is not difficult - again you just to have to know what you're doing - don't kill yourself and disconnect the power before installing.

Kit consist of a 120V LED bulb soldered to about 12 inch long wire, sealed with the wire shrink; Fuse holder and 1AMP fuse; 3 ps of Quick Wire Splice Clips Terminal Connectors.

You just need to partially disassemble the blade guard and handle, drill 2 holes in the end piece, run wires among the way and connect to the input wires. Electrically:

1.Locate the wires coming from the power receptacle - it is black and white.
2.Connect one end of one wire from the fuse assembly to the black, make sure it is isolated well.
3. connect the other wire from the fuse assembly to the one of the wires going to the LED bulb(black or red).
4. Connect the other wire from the LED to the white wire from the power receptacle.

That's it! It will take you 30 min to the hour.

If your saw(tool) didn't meant to be wired and you don't have the plastic fascia and/or LED holder:

You could still install it anyway, pending how handy you are: you will need about 1ft of the silicone tubing from the Home Depot, some masking tape and silicone caulking tube.

Before you do anything - check how much of the gap you have between the aluminum and plastic blade covers to start with and while pushing blade down - it should be enough to accommodate future LED and wiring.

1. Encapsulate LED wiring in to the silicone tubing.
2 Attach the LED facing down over the ridge of the aluminum blade guard VIA the masking tape.
3 Run tubed wiring among the ridge of blade protector and temporally fixing it with the bands of the masking tape.
4. Disassemble the saw handle so the internal wiring could be seen.
5. Drill from the outside to inside the handle where you wish to run the wiring.
6. Pull in LED wiring inside the handle.
7. Connect any end of the red wire from the included 1A fuse assembly to the (Black ) wire inside the saw handle assembly using included blue quick connect.
8. Connect the other side of fuse assembly to the any wire from the LED VIA included quick connect.
9. Connect the other wire from the LED to the white wire inside the saw handle.
10. Use silicone caulking to permanently attach LED's silicone tubing and LED itself to the ridge of the saw blade protector. You should remove masking tape after silicone cure.
11. reassemble the saw handle.

I will ship fast priority mail and will need about 24 hours to "assemble" the kit.

If you need custom size, just let me know - in most cases price will be the same.
