The function of expansion tank:
It is used to store coolant that expands due to rising temperatures. It can also be used to add coolant. If the coolant is low, you can add coolant from the expansion tank.

Symptoms of a broken expansion tank:
1. The return water (air) pipe from the upper water chamber of the water tank or the upper part of the thermostat to the expansion tank is blocked or not smooth.

2. The pressure cover of the expansion water tank is damaged, the opening pressure is too low, or the position of the expansion water tank is too low.

3. When the engine is idling or the accelerator is increased, no matter the water temperature is high or low, the expansion tank will have coolant sprayed out, and there will be a lot of gas. Due to the excessive pressure, the expansion tank may even be damaged.

4. Gas enters the engine water channel, and the pressure in the water channel increases, causing the coolant to turn outwards at the water filling port of the water tank or expansion tank.
