I have used this radio with wonderful results. Always used on my office desk (never vehicle mounted.)
Everything works. One of the few scanners to do Project 25 digital trunk monitoring in addition to regular open channel scanning.
This unit is really neat! The updates from Radio Reference are free through Uniden, and programming is as easy as entering your zip code and how big a radius of systems from you do you want to monitor.

Sentinel (Uniden Software):
Freeware: Sentinel is provided by Uniden for free.
Functionality: It allows users to update the scanner's firmware and RadioReference Database (RRDB), create, edit, and manage Favorite Lists, Systems, Departments, and channels.
Compatibility: Works with Windows PCs.
Requirements: Requires a USB port, a USB A to USB Mini B cable, and potentially a microSD card reader.
Overall, the Uniden BCD536HP is a powerful and versatile scanner for professional and personal use.
My priorities have changed, and I don't have time to listen the way I used to.
