Stats from Gemini:

The Pioneer DEH-P6400 is a vintage CD receiver known for its distinctive Organic EL display and strong AM/FM reception. It was a popular head unit in the early 2000s, lauded for its features like XM Satellite Radio compatibility, auxiliary input for portable devices, and ability to control a CD changer. While the display and design are now considered dated, the DEH-P6400 is still remembered fondly by some, especially those building 2000s-era car builds.

Key Features and Aspects:

Organic EL Display: The DEH-P6400's large, bright display with high resolution and wide viewing angle was a highlight.

Supertuner III: The legendary Supertuner III provided excellent AM/FM reception.

XM Satellite Radio: The unit was XM Satellite Radio ready, requiring a separate tuner, antenna, and subscription.

Auxiliary Input: An optional adapter allowed for connecting portable MP3 or MD players.

CD Changer Control: It could control an optional Pioneer CD changer.

Easy EQ and Sound Focus EQ: Features for tweaking audio settings with preset curves and independent front/rear tone settings.

MOSFET50 Amplifier: The built-in amplifier provided decent power for the time.

Multi-Color Display (High-End Models): Pioneer also offered multi-color Organic EL displays on higher-end models like the MEH-P9000 and DEH-P9000, though these didn't reach the same popularity as the DEH-P6400.

Era-Correct Design: The silver faceplate and low-resolution display are now considered part of the unit's retro appeal.

Positive Aspects:

Nostalgia and Retro Appeal: Many car enthusiasts fondly remember this unit, especially those building cars from the 2000s.

Feature-Rich for its Time: It offered a good range of features for its era, including XM radio, auxiliary input, and CD changer control.

Decent Sound Quality: The built-in amplifier and audio controls provided good sound quality.
