Antique Japanese smoking opium pipes are a unique pieces that date back to the early 1900's. These were brought back to the USA by my great grandfather returning from WW2, and have been wrapped and stored since then. Excellent condition, carefully preserved. Set of two.
The shorter measures about 25" in length, just over 3/8" wide, mouthpiece metal 4" long and the bowl 1" diameter and 1 3/8th inch high. The longer pipe measures about 30.25" long, 3/8" wide, mouthpiece metal slightly over 3/5" long and the bowl 3/4" diameter, and 1" high.
The shorter has additional designs in the metal mouthpiece and pipe, and the bamboo is slightly wider on this one. I don't know that they have ever been used. The natural bamboo has been intricately decorated and has its natural shapes and indentations.
Both are engraved with intricate designs, adding to their collectible appeal. Made in Japan, these tobacco pipes exudes a sense of history and craftsmanship, perfect for any collector or enthusiast of traditional smoking tools. The brandless design only adds to its authenticity and appeal as a rare and authentic piece of Japanese history.
