The springs are used, and are ready to go into service again for your cover: these were from my Loop Loc cover, but I understand they fit Meyco and many other pool safety covers. They are about 7" in length compressed.
The poly covers are present, but they are brittle and may crack. This has no bearing on the strength or durability of the spring itself.
