This is a rare find - clean, unused American Chestnut wood stored high and dry in a barn loft for likely 100 years. Probably intended for the 1800's farmhouse that sits on the property, it was never used, and so here it is now available. It is clean and dry, never wet, no nails, ever.
These blanks DO show sign of some worm activity, so it is likely they were harvested post-blight as standing deadwood. They are being sold as WORMY CHESTNUT though it seems much of the wood is without worm track. As you can see from all the photos, it is a beautiful chestnut color, and only needs your creativity and tools to bring it to life for your project - pen blanks, knife handles, whatever...
You get TWO blocks that are 12" long and 2" x 2" width (+/- 1/8") .

Thanks for looking, have a great day!
