Offered here is what looks to be a very nice unprepared Calymene breviceps trilobite from the Waldron Shale Formation from Blue Springs Quarry (filled with water) in Waldron, Indiana; Silurian in age. The trilobite measures approximately 1 1/4” long and sits on a matrix piece that measures 3 1/2” x 3”. As you can see from the pictures, the trilobite looks to have beautiful shell coloration. It’s been dusted off with an air abrasive unit to see if one cheek is tight and it looks to be. With all unprepared fossils it’s hard to tell what the finished piece will look like. This beautiful piece was found about 20 years ago during the time we had a lease on part of the old Blue Springs Quarry outside Waldron, Indiana. Our quarry dig is full of water no collecting allowed by the new land owner. If you have purchased multiple items, please do not send payment until I send an invoice.
