I happily take returns when people buy the wrong size and I trade them in towards the right killowatt
size they need. I would say about 20% of the people oversize their steam generator and don't take into
consideration the ceiling height. An 8 foot ceiling is 12 inches higher and if using ceramic or porcelain tile, it is hard
to stay in the 110 to 114 degree thermoclilne.
Thermasol makes the best pressurized steam and does not have lots of condensate like the cheap Chinese models.
Since this is a more constant steam, many people tend to stay in longer than the steam generators that dump steam from one boiling tank and it gets really hot that is not balanced. This is when wet steam happens. The steam coming out of the generator is coming out too much at once quicker than the steam can condense in the room. The last thing I want is my blood pressure to get to 150 beats per minute before I can enjoy the steam. A good constant steam is the steam people looking for a ThermaSol® should expect.
About the ThermaSol® steam, since it has 2 highly efficient boilers, it doesn't waste as much water as the single tank pressurized generators. The steam is very easy to breath since it is much drier than the single tank types that many people are used to at their gym. You will never need to pour water on the sensors to get a constant steam. The ThermaSol® is the best pressurized steam generator that has this mastered. It has a higher dryness fraction if the room is actually sized right. The latent heat index is much lower than the single pressurized tanks and its much easier to breath in their steam. I recommend the ThermaSol® and have put this in Tier 1A which is the highest rating that I have for pressurized steam generators.
Thermasol does not have a drippy steam. You can go to any Lifetime or Equinox that has Thermasol (Every single Lifetime gym I have been to has Thermasol). I never have to put a rag over my head to prevent the drippy ceiling landing on me.
Make sure you know your hardness of water and the water pressure Psi before buying.
You may or may not need one. Also, if you have a ceiling over 8 foot you may need a destratisification system. They are only 89 dollars (Used ones are 45 dollars).
I can answer any questions about Thermasol or any other brands you are comparing. I have used all the major steam generator brands with ceilings 7 to 10 feet high and know what to expect and how to size it accordingly. Also, depending on the bench height this can affect the 110 to 114 sweet spot thermocline. If the ceiling is 8 foot, for example, and the bench is 18 inches high, that would be like having a bench 6 inches off the floor. If a 9 foot ceiling, it would be like sittting on the floor in a steam room like at a gym. I don't think you want that. So, before you buy, make sure you get the right kw size and not just go by height, length, width, and if you have a glass door or if its ceramic or natural stone.
