Description

This is star sand!
*The star sand has been bleached several times to make it white.
It is a beautiful light beige.

Although it is called sand, star sand is actually the accumulated shells of foraminifera, a species of amoeba. The shells that make up star sand are made of calcium carbonate.
The irregular protrusions look like stars, hence the name "star sand," and its romantic shape makes it a very popular interior decoration, display, and gift item.

Okinawan star sand is collected on Ishigaki Island, a remote island in Okinawa.

*Because it is natural sand, there are a few Okinawan coral pieces, broken star sand, beach sand, etc. mixed in. Please understand that it is a natural product.
