Beginning with two layers of fire resistant Nomex material, our Nomex gloves offer the highest level of protection against fire. With a SFI rating of 3.3/5, often shortened to simply “SFI-5” safety rating, you know your hands are going to be well protected. The sewn in SFI tags provide quick visual confirmation for track safety inspectors as well. To further protect your hands/wrist from fire we have extended the glove’s “gauntlet” to fully cover the wrist and forearm, providing enhanced coverage by overlapping with your fire suit or jacket’s sleeve and cuff area. Instead of a hook and loop closure our driving gloves feature an elastic wrist cuff, providing secure closure from heat and flame with an easy on/off design.
The most important comfort and driving aspect of our outseam racing gloves are the fire resistant silicone grip panels and the outseam stitching that places the glove’s seam on the outside of the race car gloves. The silicone grip panels cover the palm and fingers, providing for enhanced grip on your race car’s steering wheel, shifter, switchgear, and other control surfaces with great tactile feedback that isn’t hindered by thick padded leather sections. The outseam stitching places the bulky seam of the two glove halves on the outside of the race car gloves (think about it as wearing a glove inside out), which ensures a comfortable feel to your fingers during the race as you grip the steering wheel. No more thick seam pushing against your fingers distracting you as you try to focus on your racing.
Our outseam racing gloves are crafted from black Nomex material and feature red, blue, or black top accent panels. The silicone grip panels on the palm and fingers are a light contrasting gray. The Speedway Motors logo resides on the top of the wrist gauntlet of the driving gloves, while the Speedway Motors “S” logo can be found on the top of the thumb area.
