Fresh from an estate comes this vintage Simpson 260 series 4 multimeter. The series likely dates this meter to the 1960's.
The meter seems to have been well cared for, as external wear is minimal for its age. The controls move freely and the meter is clear and readable.
I did some basic tests of DC voltage, AC voltage and resistance and everything worked. Given its age I cannot vouch for its accuracy though.
As found, the meter did have one issue. There were no batteries installed but as is all to common it appears to have had battery leakage at some time in the past. The only real damage was to one on the battery terminals, which had broken off and as found was not usable. I've cobbled together a replacement which worked when I tested it so as of today everything does work when batteries are installed. Please note that the batteries shown in the photos are not included. The meter requires one D cell and four AA cells if you want to use the resistance scales.
Please see the photos to judge the condition for yourself. The sale includes only the meter and test leads as shown.
