Russel Wright Creamer/Pitcher in Straw Yellow
With a curved simple shape and a great size to serve cream, syrup, or a little something else, you'll enjoy this sweet little Creamer. It echoes the shape of the Straw Yellow Cups (or maybe they echo the Creamer!), with the same continuous handle, but with a neat little spout opposite.
Russel Wright hired Sterling China in East Liverpool, Ohio to produce restaurant-ware in 1949, made for commercial rather than home use. Less liable to crack, chip, or craze, the pieces were produced for institutions like the US Army, railroads and airlines, hotels and hospitals, and even Krispy Kreme. Longaberger-lovers will remember that Woven Traditions Pottery was originally made by the Hall and Sterling China Companies in East Liverpool, Ohio but both family businesses eventually sold and closed, forcing production to move.
The Straw Yellow Russel Wright Creamer is in good, gently used condition. It was occasionally used in an old Legion hall locally
You may not receive the exact piece shown but will receive a Creamer in good condition inspected for chips, cracks, and crazing. Slight variations of shades of yellow are common, as are slight shape variations, as pieces were hand-finished and glazed.
I will be listing more Creamers as well as other coordinating pieces, so contact me if interested in multiples
Auction is for one Sterling China Russel Wright Creamer
Creamer is 6" from tip of spout to end of handle, 4 1/2" across, and 3" tall. It has an unglazed foot with the glazed-over stamp inside, hard to read. Use zoom feature on all photos.
