I got this from the old collection of a couple of gals that did their collecting in the mid-40s to mid-60s. It comes from Central Oregon near Hampton Butte and is what they call a replacement wood which, as a rule, has no wood grain visible.

This piece is an end cut with a mirror polish on the cut face theat helps to show the varying shades of green and brown patterns in the milky to clear agate with drusy-lined vugs. I see hairline fractures and more of a matt polish in the colored areas, but it's solid otherwise and very nice. It will sit on its side for a display specimen or cut.
