Up for your consideration is a restored Dual 1229. It has been extensively tested and all functions work. Tested at both 331/3 and 45 rpm. I do not use test equipment and go by what I see and hear. The platter seems to spin OK at 78rpm but I do not have any 78 records to test. The cosmetics are excellent ,some would say near mint, with some small scratches, smudges and dings due to age and usage.

Take a good look at the pictures to satisfy yourself on the condition.

Dustcover:  The dust cover has  a small crack in the back with a few scratches and smudges. Still looks good from the front, top and sides.

Cartridge: The cartridge and stylus are brand new. Audio Technica AT3600L Sounds very good to my ear as played on my Pioneer SX 6000 Receiver and Sansui 3000 speakers.

Plinth: Solid oak custom plinth. No particle board here. Some small scratches and dings. A little wider and heavier than the standard plinth.

The Head Shell Circuit  Board has been cleaned

The speed control module has been disassembled, cleaned,  lubed and reinstalled.

All other cleaning  and lube of linkage and parts as necessary.

New S/MP washer and ball bearings.
New Stuerpimpel.
New Anti Skate Cam

New Autocrast gold plated RCA connecting plugs.

This turntable is a precision, clockwork type mechanism and must be balanced and adjusted correctly in order to play well. This is not a child's record player. The turntable has been adjusted to play in its current configuration. However the stress and vibration during shipment could cause the turntable to go out of adjustment. Buyer must know how to balance and adjust as necessary.  I will include a copy of the owners manual which has some very basic adjustment instructions. More advanced adjustments are available in service manuals which are usually free online. Due to the age  and unpredictability of vintage equipment there is no warranty or guarantee.

Free shipment is for lower 48 states only. Shipment will be insured.

Platter will be removed and wrapped separately  for safety in shipment.

No returns other than what is required by E Bay. Buyer pays return shipment.
