The most common problem with Air Suspension systems are leaking air springs. Over time, the rubber component of the spring will deteriorate, creating holes and tears which cause air leaks.

Air springs are also prone to leaks caused by dry rot (cracking) in the underside where the shock absorber meets the spring.

There are many warning signs that indicate your air spring has an air leak. We've listed most of these further down but it's important to correctly identify the source of the leak before replacing an air spring.

Replace in Pairs: It best practice is change these in pairs in order to return the vehicle to its correct ride height, maintain steering response and safer road handling. Changing only the defective spring will result in the older spring working harder and possibly shorten its working life.

Symptoms of worn Air Springs / Bags

  • Suspension sagging in one or multiple corners
  • Bouncy ride
  • Uneven tire wear
  • Nose dive when braking
  • Rear squat during acceleration
  • Vibration in steering wheel
  • Unusual noises
  • Vehicle rolls or sways when cornering
  • Compressor working more than usual
