Compatibility

This PCB is designed to work with Chamberlain models (yellow learn button) and Liftmaster 2.0 models (also with a yellow learn button). Please note: while the jackshaft wall-mounted models (8500/RJ020 & 8500C/RJ020C) feature a yellow learn button, they utilize Security 1.0 protocol and are incompatible. Our PCB does support Security 1.0 (purple or red learn button) in an experimental capacity; however, please note that no support is provided for this feature.

DIY Setup

This PCB is provided without firmware, allowing you to customize your setup. It is compatible with Paul’s firmware, other firmware options, or HomeKit firmware of your choice.

• v2.50: The most budget-friendly option. Uses a standard D1 Mini and a standard WiFi antenna. Note: No onboard transformer. You must use a micro USB to power the unit.

• v2.51: Our most popular version. Features a standard D1 Mini and an onboard transformer*.

• v2.52: Equipped with a powerful ESP32 processor for enhanced compatibility. Includes a standard WiFi antenna and an onboard transformer*. This version will only work with Home Assistant.

• v2.53: Features a standard D1 Mini with a high-gain WiFi antenna and an onboard transformer*. Ideal for setups far from your router or WiFi access point. Note: Drilling is required if you choose to mount the antenna on your garage door opener.
  

*An onboard transformer allows for power via a 6V to 30V battery from your Chamberlain or LiftMaster. You can still use a micro USB if preferred. Wiring for battery connection is included, but you will need to determine the best method (e.g., alligator clips, quick splice connectors, soldering) to connect to your battery as this will vary with each model.
