Up for sale is this beautiful, rare, and fully loaded Ensoniq ASR-88 sampler keyboard from the early 90s. It has a professional, high quality build, has been used by many famous artists, and has many great features. It was given to me about 13 years ago and I think its time for it to find a new home where it will be played and enjoyed.
Everything that I tested on it works. That includes all keys and buttons, floppy drive, assigning and playing instruments and sequences, and the screen. Floppy drive was replaced when I got it in 2012, and I just recently fixed the issue of the middle C key not working. I also cleaned it out. This thing is in great shape for its age! It does have some scuffs and scratches to aluminum and plastic areas as pictured.
It really is a marvel to look at and it has a cool unique early 90s digital sound. High quality, while also sounding kind of like an SNES or N64.
It is fully loaded with the maxed out 16Mb of RAM and the optional SCSI board. Not to mention, it has a full 88 key keyboard compared to the ASR-10, which does not.
I am including a bank of floppy disks, many of which work. Many are official Ensoniq disks, some are old home made ones that came with it when I got it, and some are home made ones that I made. There is a lot of history here. Also including some blank floppies, so you can save your own samples and songs too.
Also included is a copy of Sampler Zone's Ensoniq Disk Tools, which is a software that runs on windows computers. If you install it on an olfer computer that has a floppy controller on its motherboard, and a real floppy drive installed (can't use a USB one), you will be able to read and write Ensoniq formatted disks, enabling you to make hard backups, download content to use on this keyboard, and create more stuff of your own on the computer to use on this keyboard.
I also have, but have not tried an Iomega zip250 drive that I am including with this deal. I was able to successfully connect it to my phone and read and write files! But the USB port on it is flakey. I don't have the scsi parallel cable, but if you get that, then you can connect this drive to the keyboard, at least I am pretty sure. That would really have been an awesome feature for me to have been able to use.

I am shipping the keyboard and acessories in separate packages. The handling cost is to cover the shipping for the second package. Shipping will be very expensive and require extra handling time for me to get it all sorted. I would much prefer to make this deal in person. And if you are somewhat near me, then you can pick it up and not pay any shipping, or sales tax, and I will knock off $500 if you pay me in cash. I am also willing to deliver it to you (within about 250 miles driving distance) for a fee. Send me a message before buying if you would like to do something like that instead. I would not reccommend buying this if you live outside the US as that will add complication.
I am selling this unit as-is, no returns, due to age . I make no guarentee that it will work after going through the shipping process. It is very heavy and large.
