RARE! Straight out of the woodwork and found at a local farm consignment sale. Unfortunately, the original consignor apparently had no history of it and was picked up by him at yardsale many years ago.
Appears there are only a small handful of these known to exist in collections. This is the same helmet posted recently on the USMF Facebook page. Per the link below, I believe it was used potentially in Lebanon circa 1958 by the 24th Airborne Brigade, 24th Infantry Division stationed in Germany at the time….hence the German splinter camo.
Appears to have a partial name stenciled on the outside (Milton?) and there used to be a piece of tape on the shell that may have had another ID.
