 RARE MONUMENTAL 1925-1930 Art Deco Ceramic Vase "Sevin" by Marcel Guillard, French (1896-1963)

  • For your consideration is a magnificent Art Deco Vase
  • Intricate stylized fan or shell design with two female caryatid figures in relief
  • Marbleized glaze in three earthen colors, grayish-tan, terracotta and blue
  • From the art pottery studio of Marcel Guillard (1896-1963), Paris, France
  • A member of the French modern art movement, the artist was known as painter, but prominently as a ceramist. He worked for Editions Etling, which participated in the exhibition of Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris in 1925 
  • The vase is clearly marked at the bottom with Marcel Guillard signature, a triangle stamp Editions Etling Paris 25, France and, possibly, the pattern name - "Sevin"
  • Circa 1925-1930, France
  • All original

  • Measurements: Approximately 11.5" long x 4.5" deep x 11" tall
  • It weighs about 6 lbs.
