Caring For High Carbon Steel:
Preferred for hardness and edge retention, High Carbon Steel requires extra care and upkeep to prevent rusting.
Clean, Dry and Coat - When you have finished working with your High Carbon utensils, hand wash and towel & air dry. Apply a thin coating of food grade oil to your cutlery and store as usual.
Patina vs. Rust - Over time, your blade will develop a blue/gray patina. Patina = GOOD ~ Rust = BAD. A healthy patina will protect your blades from rust.
