The TASCAM DP-01FX/CD 8-Track Hard Disk Recorder features the one-knob-per-function design that has made TASCAM cassette Portastudios the choice of thousands of musicians.

It shatters the confusing page-shift-menu interface found in most other digital recorders. The DP-01FX digital recorder has 2 - 1/4" TRS mic/line inputs, 2 phantom-powered XLR microphone inputs for connecting condenser mics, plus a guitar-level input. Its 8 tracks record at uncompressed CD quality to an internal 40GB hard drive, and a stereo master track is available for recording a mix. Each channel has a 45mm volume fader, plus dedicated controls for pan, effects send, high EQ, and low EQ. An LCD display shows meters, audio editing settings, and locate points. It has a USB 2.0 jack for file backup and transferring mixes to a computer. There are analog RCA line outputs, a headphone out and S/PDIF line output. The DP-01FX also has a multi-effects processor for adding effects to an instrument during recording and a reverb processor for adding effects during a mix. The onboard CD burner makes backups and mastering a snap.

Condition:

This beautiful deck is in "Very Good" condition with minor signs of use and a nice, bright display. Aside from the typical scratches to the base, theere may be a few light scuffs or scratches to the cabinet. All original knobs are present and complete and there is minimal scuffing to the display plexi. The original Power Supply has gone missing so we are including the new, overrated supply we used throughout testing. The manual is not included but no worries, it is available online or we will provide the PDF file directly on request. Your deck will come packaged in a generic box with custom Styrofoam packaging! Service:

These decks have a common issue with the CD drive not opening consistently. This is why, even if working, we always service the CD Drive. Not just cleaning the optics, but also lubrication the transport and installing a new belt. Also, all faders are treated with DeoxIT F5, specifically designed to both clean & lubricate fader controls.

Testing:

We set this system up on our test bench and it performed impressively with no issues! All switches, functions and LED indicators work correctly and all line/mic inputs and outputs have been confirmed operational. A short track was created and stored, then loaded and played back with no issues. The CD player was also tested with several discs and exhibited no skipping at all. Further testing was done, if there is a particular function you would like to know more about just let us know before buying. What a great find on a quality piece of equipment!
