You are looking at a used vintage PREMIER DRUMS 5x14 Royal Ace snare drum.
I think this is a birch shell.
The size is 5.5x14.
A helpful eBayer told me Premier never made a 5, it must be a 5+1/2x14 shell.
This one has no Serial number.
Year is about 1965 or 1966 give or take a couple years.
The one big problem with the drum is that
The screw that helps operate the throw off is not original, and not working right.
For this reason, I am calling it a parts drum, or repair project.
Royal Ace snare drums are eight lug drums. I like 8 lug drums.
This snare drum would be a great drum when you get the throw off working right.
The parallel mechanism is still in the drum.
The set of twin ten snare wires is present and good.
There are four tape residue spots on the bottom snare side head.
The top batter head is an unused Percussion Plus brush white head.
The 16 original slotted tension rods are all here.
There are a couple of scuffs in a panel or two.
Photos show most of the flaws.
Check the inside shots of the shell.
And it has a scratch or two.
The chrome is clean and looks good, but you can further detail it yourself.
This drum itself weighs 8 pounds and 1.2 ounces.
