General: Very good condition Parker Vacumatic “Shadow Wave” in brown. This is a Junior Slender sized pen with a smooth, rounded base (much like a vacumatic major). This pen has been fully taken apart, cleaned, and polished by hand.
Filling mechanism: Vacuum filler with plastic plunger-filler. The internal diaphragm has been replaced. The pen fills easily and fully. The original breather tube is present which helps the pen fill maximally. The blind cap Is very smooth to the barrel
Barrel/cap: Excellent overall. No cracks or scratches. Original imprint is very worn but discernible with a keen eye and maybe a loop. The barrel has nice clarity when held to the light for ink-level viewing. The shadow wave patterning is striking and a lovely change of pace to the laminate stripes of other vacumatic models.
Trim: Gold-filled trim. Parker “split arrow” clip is held tightly in place by the cap jewel. The cap band is the “Jeweler’s Band” or “stacked coin” cap band – indicating it was distributed to jewelers and watch shops rather than usual Parker Pen distributors. There is a clean space for initials present on the cap band. There is some plating loss on the Parker clip.
Nib/writing: The nib is 14K gold: “Parker Pen/Made in USA/44” (Indicating this nib, and likely the pen, were made in the fourth quarter of 1934). The nib has been tuned and writes a smooth, fine line.
Measurements: ~ 4 3/4 inches capped, ~ 4 5/16 inches uncapped, 10mm wide
