  • This incredible piece of iconic cinematic history which is now impossible to find anywhere else will unquestionably make a superlative addition to your growing BEATLES memorabilia collection.
  • Grading: Excellent.  No stains, fold lines, rips, pages missing, writing on photos, pin holes or tears. There are a few minor creases and slight cover wear which is normal for a soft cover book this old.
  • The Beatles were an English rock band formed in Liverpool in 1960. The core lineup of the band comprised John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. They are widely regarded as the most influential band in Western popular music and were integral to the development of 1960s counterculture and the recognition of popular music as an art form. Rooted in skiffle, beat and 1950s rock 'n' roll, their sound incorporated elements of classical music and traditional pop in innovative ways. The band also explored music styles ranging from folk and Indian music to psychedelia and hard rock. As pioneers in recording, songwriting and artistic presentation, the Beatles revolutionised many aspects of the music industry and were often publicised as leaders of the era's youth and sociocultural movements.
  • Led by primary songwriters Lennon and McCartney, the Beatles evolved from Lennon's previous group, the Quarrymen, and built their reputation by playing clubs in Liverpool and Hamburg, Germany, starting in 1960, initially with Stuart Sutcliffe playing bass. The core trio of Lennon, McCartney and Harrison, together since 1958, went through a succession of drummers, including Pete Best, before inviting Starr to join them in 1962. Manager Brian Epstein moulded them into a professional act, and producer George Martin developed their recordings, greatly expanding their domestic success after they signed with EMI and achieved their first hit, "Love Me Do", in late 1962. As their popularity grew into the intense fan frenzy dubbed "Beatlemania", the band acquired the nickname "the Fab Four". Epstein, Martin or other members of the band's entourage were sometimes informally referred to as a "fifth Beatle".
  • By early 1964, the Beatles were international stars and had achieved unprecedented levels of critical and commercial success. They became a leading force in Britain's cultural resurgence, ushering in the British Invasion of the United States pop market. They soon made their film debut with A Hard Day's Night (1964). A growing desire to refine their studio efforts, coupled with the challenging nature of their concert tours, led to the band's retirement from live performances in 1966. During this time, they produced albums of greater sophistication, including Rubber Soul (1965), Revolver (1966) and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967). They enjoyed further commercial success with The Beatles (also known as "the White Album", 1968) and Abbey Road (1969).
  • The success of these records heralded the album era, increased public interest in psychedelic drugs and Eastern spirituality, and furthered advancements in electronic music, album art and music videos. In 1968, they founded Apple Corps, a multi-armed multimedia corporation that continues to oversee projects related to the band's legacy. After the group's break-up in 1970, all principal former members enjoyed success as solo artists, and some partial reunions occurred. Lennon was murdered in 1980, and Harrison died of lung cancer in 2001. McCartney and Starr remain musically active.
  • The Beatles are the best-selling music act of all time, with estimated sales of 600 million units worldwide. They are the most successful act in the history of the US Billboard charts, with the most number-one hits on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart (20), and they hold the record for most number-one albums on the UK Albums Chart (15) and most singles sold in the UK (21.9 million). The band received many accolades, including eight Grammy Awards, four Brit Awards, an Academy Award (for Best Original Song Score for the 1970 documentary film Let It Be) and fifteen Ivor Novello Awards. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in their first year of eligibility, 1988, and each principal member was individually inducted between 1994 and 2015. In 2004 and 2011, the group topped Rolling Stone's lists of the greatest artists in history. Time magazine named them among the 20th century's 100 most important people.

IMPORTANT DETAILS FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION

  • This photo is definitely NOT a copy or reproduction, but the actual vintage theatrical publicity still from the year the movie was produced by the studio to promote that specific movie and stars star.  They were originally used for publicity and promotional purposes during the time of the movie's theatrical release. Original movie photos or "stills" were produced in limited numbers, and sent from the studio's publicity department to select theaters and the most popular newspaper wire services, which led to them sometimes being referred to as "Wire Photos".
  • These now iconic images were taken by some of the most talented photographers in the world, and are unquestionably msagnificent works of art in their own right. They were printed on gelatin silver "single weight" fiber paper in limited quantities, and in the cases of some key book stills, large 11" x 14" (22.86 x 30.48 cm) "double weight" photographs, and even the standard 8" x 10"  (20.32 x 25.4 cm), in excellent condition,  fewer than 10 prints may still exist today!
  • KissMeMonster.com is pleased to offer an incredible and extremely rare selection of never-before-seen and 100% vintage original studio issued theatrical movie stills, lobby cards, posters and much more! They were printed during the specific year each film was released to all the major movie theaters. The British lobby card (aka Front of House "FOH" card in the UK) was created by the film studios to publicize their movies and intended for display outside the movie theatre in special, eye catching glass display boxes.
  • These are NOT cheap reproductions or worthless dupes!
  • You are purchasing a truly original piece of cinema art, a genuine and authentic collector's item. We have a huge archive of over 7500,000 original movie memorabilia collectibles, ranging from the 1920's to the late 1990's.
  •  Make certain you add KissMeMonster to your "favorite sellers" list since our staff will consistently be listing many more rare collectibles from our vast collection. Included will be lobby cards from the horror genre, US & foreign movie posters, original theatrical photographs, rare movie stills and magazines, original press books & brochures, photographers original 35mm negatives and 2"x 2" transparencies, slides, chromes and much more!

PRESS STILL
  • Press stills are standard 8" x 10" (20.32 x 25.4 cm), glossy and/or matte, gelatin silver, single weight fiber paper, theatrical photographs, normally printed in B/W. They can range from publicity portraits featuring just the main stars or from specific scenes in the movie, to "behind the scenes" with film crew and/or director on the movie set during the production of the film.
  • In numerous cases, there was usually some type of descriptive information (snipe) included on the back of that press still that explained who's in that scene and what it represented. Sometimes the studio's publicity department would type the description on a separate sheet of smaller paper and glue it to the back side of the still (with a key number).
  • Many press stills also have a studio key number (bottom right) that was normally included on the original negative itself which identifies the still number in that set. Quite often they will include the NSS number and studio information shown on the bottom too, but not always. They are normally included as part of a press kit which can contain a set of stills. Every presskit is different with a varying number of press stills from 8 (mini presskit) to over 30.

COLLECTIBLE MOVIE PHOTOS

  • The use of theatrical press/publicity stills as a promotional/marketing tool dates all the way back to the silent film era. Long before posters ever existed, 8"x10" (20.32 x 25.4 cm), movie photographs were extensively used by the first nickelodeons as a very popular form of advertising all their featured movies.
  • Press stills are normally included in theatrical press kits, which  are now very sought-after by movie memorabilia collectors. Even on their own, original theatrical publicity/press stills offer a more cost effective alternative as opposed to collecting larger sizes of movie material such as lobby & window cards, 1 (one) and 2 (two)-sheet theatrical movie posters and British Quads among others!

They have absolutely no collectible or intrinsic value what-so-ever!

As the old saying goes . . .  "You Get What You Pay For!"

This 8" x 10" (20 x 25 cm) luster gloss finish print was developed in a professional photo lab from 100% vintage original and fully restored source material; original (2 x 2) (4 x 4) (8 x 10) studio production transparencies and negatives, press and (or) publicity slides, chromes or the photographer's original 35mm contact sheet proof negatives. They were also meticulously restored, color corrected and then exposed on Kodak Professional photographic paper.

Real metallic/silver-halide microscopic particles are actually embedded in  the emulsion which ensures spectacular brightness & stunning image quality! This also shields and protects the surface of the deluxe heavyweight and very expensive archival and acid free photographic paper for 200 + years shelf life of resistance  from the damaging effects of ultra-violet light, air, pollution, heat and moisture which ultimately lead to extreme paper deterioration & image fading!

Not only are they very desirable and visually stunning photographs to add to your growing movie photo archives/collection but also museum quality fine art photos with extreme sharpness and unique pearlescent appearance with vibrant color saturation and flattering flesh tones plus exceptional visual depth that will only increase in value for generations to come!

We obtained the original source material from different movie studios, reputable press agencies, motion picture archives, private collectors & fashion/press photographers. Your museum quality photos come ready to be proudly displayed in your photo archives, albums or picture frames. Many of these collectible photos were also developed directly from  extremely rare contact sheet proof negatives which were part of the original studio photographer's private archives.

This exquisite silver gelatin photograph will make a superlative addition to your growing collection . . .

or framed & proudly displayed in a prominent wall in YOUR den, home office or game room!

IMPORTANT- Most of these stunning test, proof & production shots were never used in theaters, magazines layouts or publicity campaigns. None were ever intended or meant to be collected by the general public! In most cases, the original source material was just  filed away and completely forgotten about eventually discarded for good.

  • All envelopes are labeled front and back: "PHOTOS - Do Not Bend."
  • Envelopes are clearly labeled with your shipping address.
  • IMPORTANT! Our shipping department takes extra special care when sending out your valuable photographs. We know from our own experiences there is nothing worse than receiving a rare piece of memorabilia that's been damaged in the mail. Therefore, we always make sure to reinforce all packages with extra cardboard and padding, to prevent them from being bent or crushed by the USPS conveyor belts!

Damaged Parcel Insurance

KEEP IN MIND THAT... The USPS Requires a Minimum Flexibility for  Flat-Size Pieces that are 10" or Longer!

The piece is not flexible if it cannot bend at least 1 inch vertically and 2 inch horizontally without being damaged (see illustrations above). This is because the flat package must pass through the Post Office conveyor belt as it makes a 40 degree turn. Therefore, despite our secure & professionally packaging, if your parcel should still arrive damaged... you need to contact us immediately!

At that point , we will either:

  1. Replace the photo(s) at no further cost to you what-so-ever, providing of course we still have prints available of the exact photo(s) you paid for.
  2. Replace them with similar photo(s) of your choice.
  3. Give you a full refund the second we receive the damaged photos.

    Copyright & Intellectual Property

Our Commitment to the ebay VeRO Program

  • Our unique photographs are sold strictly as memorabilia for personal/collectible use only. No specific rights are given, intended or implied. All reasonable steps have been taken to ensure that the photos we sell do not infringe local or international copyright laws.
  • The vintage original (8 x 10) (2 x 2) (4 x 4) color & b/w studio transparencies, 35mm still photographer's negatives, chromes and press slides come from a wide variety of reputable and established sources including... our own staff photographers, freelancers, private collectors, independent and professional photo/press agencies and even quite a few specialized wholesale outlets.
  • In light of those facts, there's always a distinct possibility or slim chance that we may have acquired a specific image(s) in error.
  •  If you should by chance see a specific image that you're 100% certain infringes on your existing copyright status, notify us immediately.  Rest assured we will permanently delete that specific file from our archives and refrain from ever using it again unless you give Kiss Me Monster specific permission and authorize us otherwise. However, if possible, we would prefer to establish a beneficial & mutually rewarding business relationship with your legal department that would allow us to continue selling your exquisite work! Sincerely, Peter Rafferty
