Original Vintage U.S. Navy Standard Dive Knife Mark V Brass Threaded Sheath

Navy standard dive knife U.S. Navy design of 1929. Also called the Mark V knife in reference to the diving helmet it was used with. Stainless steel blade concealed inside a threaded brass cylinder sheath. A large number of these U.S. Navy diving knives were contracted out to different manufacturers during WWII. Many were unmarked such as this example. This collector’s piece came from the estate of a WWII Veteran. Approximate measurement of blade and handle is 12.5”.
